Finding the back of the net four times this past Saturday, 1904 FC extended its preseason streak to three wins this Saturday against the Escondido Mayas.

1904 midfielder Christian Enriquez’s first preseason goal lit up the scoreboard at Orange Glen High’s stadium during the first half.

Brandon Zambrano would later bag his second goal of the preseason, leaving the boards at 2-0 for the black and white at the end of the first half.

Milo Barton kept the offense running at the start of the the second half. The San Diego forward struck the ball from outside the box to extend 1904’s lead to 3-0.

At the 70th, newcomer Anthony Vergara would score the final goal of this match.

With a 4-0 win in the books, head coach Alex Gontran shared some thoughts in a post-match interview via Instagram live on the club’s profile.

“[This week] we worked on tactics, so that was the most important goal for today,  how to play together, progress together, and how to defend together,” Gontran shared.

Christian Enriquez voiced it was a good game, where the team put to practice the week’s tactical goals.

“It’s good to get a result,” he shared. “We all understand each other very well from last season and as a team, two weeks away from our first games, we’re just trying to come together and get good results.”
