1904 FC Defeats Xolos U-20 in Weekend Friendly
In its first ever trip south of the border, 1904 FC defeated the Club Tijuana Xolos’ Under 20 team in a friendly match held at Estadio Caliente this Saturday, October 12, with a 4-2 result.
The afternoon’s score was opened by 1904’s Eder Arreola (#13) with a blast from outside the box after a corner kick attempt was deflected towards the midfielder.
In the return to his old grounds, #10 Moe Espinoza bagged two goals. His first of the day came after he received a cross just outside the box and beat the Xolos keeper in a one-on-one situation to double the lead. Espinoza later received the ball near the midfield line and ran a solo play against the Xolos defense, which ended in a successful shot from outside the 18 for 1904’s third goal of the match.
1904’s count would be finalized in the second half, with a penalty kick by newcomer Kazuma Susuki. The Japanese-born forward was tackled from behind inside the box, setting up the attempt which resulted in 1904’s fourth and final goal of the afternoon.
