1904 FC Down in Final Road Match Against Cal United

In its second visit to Irvine’s championship stadium this NISA Showcase season, San Diego 1904 FC fell to the Cal United Strikers last night with a final score of 4-1.

Cal United got on the board at the 18th minute when #9 Omar Nuno scored off an assist from teammate Evan Waldrep. The home team’s lead was doubled at the 52nd by Andy Contreras. 

1904 scored its only goal of the match after 71 minutes of play. A corner kick attempt was headed in the box by #11 Nelson Flores Blanco, which and hit the crossbar. San Diego’s #14 Brandon Zambrano Lopez shot to score after 72 minutes of action. 

The Strikers would finalize the match with two more goals. The third of the count for Cal United by Michael Brant was scored at the 82nd and Christian Thierjung would close down the score at the 90th.

The result in 1904’s final away match of the NISA Showcase season puts the club’s home record at two wins — all at home — and three losses.
