Last week we had the good fortune of being able to announce the ‘re-birth’ of 1904 FC. This week — last wednesday night event — WAS to us the real ‘re-birth’: A New DAY 1. These past 18 months were full of frustrations, failures and preventable screw-ups, and the searching and blind diligence as we sometimes felt like we were venturing off into a never-ending unknown. Refusing to give up by co-creating a new home, our own new league, and being sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation as a professional league. We can also proudly say it :: we were the very 1st club of NISA.

Seeing you guys last Wednesday, hanging out with you and listening to your stories was emotionally rewarding. Especially now. Receiving your continuous support via social media, emails, and now face to face. Somethings are known, and somethings are unknown, and in between are you and us.

Is there one thing more than anything that really came out from our conversations? That got us there united at the Bay City Brewery? I’d say 3 things.

And that is People, Passion, Patience.

It takes time. Rome wasn’t built in a day. And neither are football clubs. Or footballers careers. Or supporters group. Or 1904 FC. And the assets that’ll represent our success in co-founding with you ‘The Most Passionate Football Club’? People: that want to represent proudly San Diego. Passion: of the heart. Patience: of the mind.

The name ‘1904’ came from a local supporter.

Stealing 2 other lines from our local supporters:

‘No White flags.’

‘We all speak the same language’.

San Diego x Football: it is 1904.
