Medical Report: Jean Antoine Cleared for Return

First-choice goalkeeper Jean Antoine (#21) has been cleared to make his return to official match action after sustaining a pair of injuries during 1904 FC’s match against the Oakland Roots on September 28. The 25-year-old goalie was subbed out for Marcus Norris (#1) at the 71st minute of said match, which resulted in a 4-3 win for San Diego.

Antoine has been active in rehabilitation and conditioning work during recent weeks. He has also volunteered his time at local youth soccer clubs as part of 1904 FC’s community outreach initiatives during this period of match inactivity.

“I’m very happy to keep recovering and to be back training with the team,” Antoine said.

Antoine’s approval from the team’s medical staff comes days ahead of 1904 FC’s final home match of the Fall Showcase season against the Los Angeles Force this Saturday, November 2. A weekend victory will qualify 1904 FC to the NISA Western Conference final on November 16, against the conference-leading Cal United Strikers.

If Antoine is named to Saturday’s starting lineup, he will have made starting appearances in all of 1904 FC’s home matches at SDCCU Stadium this NISA Fall Showcase Season.
